CarlotaRules Turns One!

Happy birthday to Carlotarules! On Wednesday this little blog of mine turned one, I can’t even believe it. This blog started as a personal challenge for me after I finished uni, and a lot of good things have came since then. I didn’t know having my own place on the web could be so regarding, and I’ve discovered a lot of things I didn’t know about myself. Here’s a summary of this year..

I wrote my first post for as a freelance. I think of my blog as my CV. Every time I apply for a job I make sure I mention I have a blog. This opportunity to write this post about my most nostalgic moments came out of the blue, and I’m pleased someone read my blog and thought I could write something worthy for them.

I started writing in English. Carlotarules started as an Spanish blog, as you can see on my oldest posts. As months passed I realized I wasn’t comfortable writing in Spanish as all the blogs and bloggers I follow are English. Writing in English was (and is) quite the challenge but I think I made a good decision.

I proved myself I can commit to something. I’ve been writing four posts a week for a year now. Well, I’ve had some breaks from time to time, but you get the jazz. I think consistency is one of the keys to a good blog, that’s why I try to follow a schedule so there’s always something new on the blog for you!

I have discovered my passion for photography. One thing I didn’t thought of when creating a blog was photography. I saw amazing photos and just thought “they must have an amazing camera”, without realizing how much time and effort it takes to create the perfect set up for a perfect photo. I would love to have a good quality camera –which will happen one day- but for now, just now you can work with what you have, trust me!

Here’s to more years of CarlotaRules!!
